Summer in Australia is a time for barbecues and getting together with family and friends in the outdoors.
National Parks and Wildlife Service Neighbour and Community Relations Ranger Emily Ingram said there were plenty of opportunities for enjoying summer in local national parks.
“Making the most of what the Walcha area has to offer throughout the distinctive seasons is very rewarding, and local national parks offer some great opportunities close to town.
“This time of year is perfect for a late evening meal at the well presented picnicking facilities at Apsley Falls, planned around the time of the setting sun for a stunning backdrop.
“Take visiting friends on an early morning walk to Tia Falls, and taking the 5km return Tiara Walk will be an unforgettable experience, as the gorge system is exposed and the amazing landscape can be taken in, complete with cascading waterfalls, “ she said.
