The Yarrowitch-Tia CWA branch will host a morning tea for CWA awareness day, next Wednesday from 9am.
The event will give visitors the chance to ask questions about the association and the types of activities and community work the branch under takes.
The group has been busy this year, hosting the Wanthella Council meeting in February and doing the catering. In April the branch had a library day on Scotland and attended a conference in Tamworth, then the following month three members attended the State Conference at Port Macquarie.
The International Day lunch was held in Walcha in July with a number of delicious Scottish dishes including carrot and orange soup, venison stew, miner’s meatloaf, and almond and raspberry tart.
Other activities included a council meeting at Bendemeer, an international day at Niangala Hall, with Nowendoc and Niangala schools providing items of interest. Some members also travelled to Somerton for the Wanthella Group international day. Judge for the poetry, skits, story writing and telling was Andrew McFarlane and guest speaker Drum Major Wayne Holloway.
There were two street stalls, visits from Hunter New England Health staff and Hamish Brown.
