The 2010 Walcha Beautification Committee has been finalised and will meet next week for the first time.
Walcha Council’s director of engineering Steve McCoy said the response to the call for new members was very encouraging and he looked forward to working with the new team in the coming year.
“We are very grateful to our existing committee members for their previous contribution and are keen to work with the new members who each bring different skills and experience to the committee,” said Mr McCoy.
“At the inaugural meeting next week we will review the new financial year’s council works program to identify those which will benefit from input from the Beautification Committee.”
Mr McCoy said that as well as looking at the committee administration procedures and the Council works list, the committee would be finalising the annual Walcha Garden Competition winners for 2010 and looking at the format for future competitions.
“Walcha Council is a Keep Australia Beautiful member and the Committee will also review how we approach our entry into the 2011 Tidy Towns competition,” he said.
The 2010 Walcha Beautification Committee is comprised of council representative Steve McCoy; longstanding members Phyllis Hoy, Doug Laurie and Robyn Vincent; and new members Alex Smith, Irene Woods and Felicity Nivison.
