In spite of the dreadful weather and dusty winds one hundred NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteer firefighters from Walcha, Armidale, Guyra and Uralla gathered at the Walcha Showground last Saturday to practice their craft at the New England Zone Exercise.

In a series of scenarios, fire fighters tested their readiness and

equipment.

The public attended the Walcha Showground throughout the day to watch firefighters in action at a simulated motor vehicle accident.
