Yesterday morning the Bureau of Meteorology issued an severe weather warning for people in the Northern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Hunter and Mid North Coast districts.
A broad low pressure trough extends from central Queensland into northeastern NSW and a slow-moving upper level trough lies over the region.
Rain and possible thunderstorms, which may lead to flash flooding, are forecast for parts of the Northern Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Mid North Coast and Hunter districts.
The severe weather warning for parts of the Northern Rivers forecast district has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.

Th e State Emergency Service advises that people should:
Keep clear of fallen power lines.
Don’t drive, ride or walk through flood water.
Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue.
Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road.
