LAST Saturday morning my much better half Linda was in the backyard hanging the washing out in her dressing gown at 9.30am when Neil Farr called in next door to make a delivery. Plumber Neil Dark was on hand to assist ‘Farry’ and hadn’t seen Linda because she was hiding near the laundry door until they left. Suddenly she spotted a sizeable spider and proceeded to take it out on the back lawn and belt it to death. By this time the boys had stuck their heads over the fence to see what all the commotion was about and for someone not wanting to draw attention to herself Linda didn’t do a bad job.
BEST wishes to my niece Kimberley Laurie and her husband to be Doug Lisle when they tie the knot at the ‘Pavilion’ Nemingha tomorrow afternoon. Hope the weather is kind and all those attending have a great day.
THE following day there will be a celebration of a different kind when Hill Street resident Ruth Cotterill
celebrates her 80 years on the planet. No doubt there will be a few stories told when sons Geoff, Paul and John grace the microphone at the Bowling Club on Saturday night.
