SOME German tourists found themselves in a spot of bother last week when they needed petrol and although they had plenty of cash they had no credit cards to activate any of the bowsers after hours. Luckily part-time tourist officer Bernard Lynch spotted the people in distress and offered them one of his cards. Not only did the good samaritan get the amount of money back the tourists racked up on his card they also gave him a $20 tip for good measure.

COUNCIL employee John Baker was a bit absent minded recently while working on a streetscape in Fitzroy Street. After assisting with a concrete pour some time had elapsed before John turned around and walked directly through the wet concrete. Nothing that his offsider Brian Lockyer couldn’t fix.
