JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE

Presentation day was held at the Park last Saturday with a good crowd in attendance to finalise the 2009 season.

Sam Abraham (U9s) was named overall club best and fairest and he also collected the Walcha Tyre Service trophy for any player scoring over 100 points for the season after he notched up 160 points.

The other major awards went to Lee Harrison (Gordon Brooks Memorial Superstar trophy), Fraser Evans (Brian Sweeney club player of the Future), Tim Jackson (Cadbury’s Most Improved) and Thomas Boyd (Sportsmanship). After a decade of junior rugby league from 5 years to 15 Ben Partridge was presented with a pewter for his dedication.

Team awards are as follows: U9s: Best and Fairest Sam Abraham; Coaches award; Toby Brazel; Most Improved; Daniel Blanch; Encouragement award; Cody Clarke. U12s: Best and Fairest: Lee Harrison; Most Improved: Brandon Eckford; Encouragement award: Dylan Norris; Coaches Award: Jake Le Strande. U14s players player: Sam Wicks; Most Improved: Darcy Giselle; Encouragement award: Ryan Relf; Coaches award: Ben Moran.

All registered players with the Walcha Club received a shirt and a trophy for their efforts during the season and hopefully will return for another season in 2010.
