Ladies golf championship winners

The third round of ladies championships was played on June 24 and the day’s event was sponsored by Frog Crossing.

In division 1 Cheryl McDonald won the scratch on 265, while the runner-up Marg Davidson got 276, in the nett McDonald won with 220 and runner-up Davidson on 225.

In division 2, Barb Mulligan won with 294, runner-up was Vicki Heffernan on 299, (nett Mulligan on 219 and runner-up Heffernan 224).

Division 3 scratch: Donna Martin 308, runner- up Lorraine Rennie 337, nett Donna Martin 218, and runner-up Lorraine Rennie 226.

The Europambela Jug was won by Lorraine Rennie on 141. Rennie also won the veterans’ championship on 141, while the Pittson Porter and Finlayson trophy for the best nett score over three rounds went to Donna Martin on 218.

The day’s winner was Jill Burnell with a nett of 66 and a good handicap reduction.

Sweepstakes to Lorraine Rennie 68 - another handicap reduction, Barb Mulligan 72, Cheryl McDonald 72, Julie Olrich 72, Pip Leake 73 and Joan Poole 74. NTP on 3 Rennie.

In the nine-hole competition Chris Lafforgue was the winner with 61.

On July 8 there will be a stableford for Fisher and Paykel qualifier M Royal’s trophy.
