Captain Will Brennan was the winner of the 2009 patron's trophy donated by IJ Cross and John Mann when he accumulated 40 stabelford points last Sunday to give him a two round total of 80 points.
Runner-up was Jamie Bowden who also shot two consistent rounds of 39 points each outing to finish two points behind the winner. In conjunction with the final round was a trophy donated by Crichton Barr and Victor Coulter was the victor after carding 41 points. Sweepstakes went to the overall winner and runner-up, Andrew Eliott 38, Tim Beaumont 37, Andrew Bowden 37 and Phil Perry 36 after he counted out Crichton Barr and Simeon Cross.
Sharpest shooters at the pins were AJ Cross on three and Margaret Davidson on the 18th.
Last Saturday 18 veterans turned up for their weekly nine-hole competition with the women out numbering the men 10-18. Seven new comers played for the first time including David Leake who won the men’s division on 20 points and Jill Burnell who took out the ladies section on 19 points while Cecile Foulsham won a sweepstakes prize after totaling 15 points.
Other sweepstakes winners were regulars Paddy Archdale 17 points and Jenny Lisle 16 points while Owen Presnell was the most accurate off the third tee. Warwick Hogan won he first chook run last Friday after returning to the clubhouse with 21 points. This Sunday is a stabelford round for a prize supplied by Col Higgins.
