Last Sunday a good field of well over 30 players teed off in the annual race weekend 4BBB stableford competition for trophies donated by the Commercial Hotel with veteran Warwick Hogan and councillor Scott Schmutter running out the winners after accumulating 44 points.
Runners-up were Max Holstein and Jenny Lisle on a countback from Wayne Brennan and Jack O’Hara all on 42 points. The vent was played in conjunction with the sure shot GPS 2010 NSW Men’s 4BBB championship qualifier with the winners on third place getters plus Mal Ballard and Crichton Barr 39 points all invited to Quirindi in August to play in the next round.
Sharpest shooters at the pins were Cheryl McDonald (3), Michael Campbell (9), Neil Dark (16) and Julie Hoad (18).
The veterans held their weekly nine-hole competition on Saturday and it was John Porter 14 points sneaking home ahead of Paddy Archdale on 13 points while Max Holstein won the NTP on three. In the ladies section Joan Poole notched up 13 points to finish a couple of point ahead of Christine Ireland. This Sunday is a New England stroke medal round for trophies donated by John O’Hara, Kevin Mathews and Andrew Eliott.
