The crowds were the best yet and the racing was first class. The tussle with the books continued on Saturday following a great days racing on Friday. It was indeed a pleasure to see so many enjoying the race meetings atmosphere.

The good outcome was proof that the Races are a great boost to Walcha with many business’ taking advantage of the half day holiday allowing their staff to take part in a wonderful event.

The meeting kicked off well with the Jim, Amanda and Jill Nivison owned Notforpublication taking out the first race of the Carnival. Notforpublication was the first of two winners on Friday for Craig Martin who likes nothing better than to return to his home town to win a race or two.
