On Sunday the men played bowls for the Secretary Trophy and all had good games. The winners were Brian Lockyer, Eric Wall and Doug White defeating Ian Bird, Eric O’Keefe and E Finlayson 30-17. Runners-up were Steve Goodwin, Matt Hamel and E Harrison and they had a draw 17-all and Steve’s team won on a count back 12-8.

Dad’s Army: B Glanville and F Henry defeated E Wall and B Burton 28-18. E O’Keefe and E Finlayson had a 20 all draw.

On Saturday morning the District, Mixed Pairs was played with B Lockyer and P Boyd defeating W A’hoy and L Smartell from Armidale City 19-17. S Goodwin and C Goodwin won their game on a

forfeit.

There were two Walcha teams in the final with B Lockyer and P Boyd defeating S Goodwin and C Goodwin 28-17. Congratulations to Locky and Pam.

The zone play off will be held sometime in November at Barraba.

This Sunday at 1.30pm the pennants trial run will be on so make the best of it and turn up. A few bowlers are away at the moment so bowlers don’t forget the Lonagan Shield on October 31 and November 1. The handicap singles are on November 7 and 8 both nomination sheets are on the post near the TV. Also the Pasture Wonderland carnival sheets are up. Good bowling.
