TEENAGER Andrew Bowden produced one of the better rounds of golf played in the recent past when he carded a one under par 69 to win last Sunday’s stroke medal round in heavy conditions. To put things in perspective current champion Tim Stackman finished nine shots behind the youngster while former title holder (who has won the most A grade men’s championships) Simeon Cross was 11 behind him. Well-done Buddha.

THE Woolbrook Warriors are the 2009 Walcha six-a-side cricket champions after they defeated First in reserve by 13 runs in the final the Saturday before Christmas. Made up off mainly Kentucky players from the Walcha competition Tony and Tom Blake, ‘Ching’ Sweeney, Chris Cameron and Brad Partridge joined forces with ‘ring in’ Dean Turner to get the job done.
