BACK in the late 1970s Bobby Delaney played five eighth for the Walcha Roos while attending the UNE and was selected for both Group 4 and Northern Division representative teams during his time in the Green and Gold. One of my favourite footy memories of Bobby was when he landed a 40-metre field goal from wide out at the Park to give us a late victory over Werris Creek.

Unfortunately Bob has been suffering from ill health over the past few years and last weekend his lengthy battle with Motor Neurone Disease came to an end when Bob passed away. His funeral will be held in Lismore this morning at 11am.

LAST Saturday the Walcha Rams travelled to Inverell to take on the Highlanders in what could be described as very wet conditions. Rumour has it that the players were practically unidentifiable and at one stage Rams back rower Charlie Street was tackled by one of his own players. The Rams went down in both grades and are now drawn to play Narrabri here at home on the Park this Saturday. Good luck boys.
