A couple of weeks ago 12-year-old Joe Makeham competed in the National Cross Country championships at Bald Hills in Brisbane and finished sixth in the U14s event over three kilometres. He was also a member of the NSW Relay team that won their division with Joe the third member of the squad to cross the finish line. Joe was also presented with two gold medals from Athletes Australia and National Sports respectively. Good on ya Joe.
LAST week Farrar U16s Rugby team defeated Alstonville 32-12 when the Tamworth boys travelled to the coast to play their Wirbird Shield match. A couple of Walcha players Hayden Sweeney and Andrew Bowden are members of the squad that now take on St Edwards from Sydney in their next match.
