Everyone seemed very excited about the new milestone in their life while painting, learning and playing with friends are the best things about school life according to most of the children.
Pictured are: Elke Payne, Hayden Benson, Brodie Kliendienst in the front row; Quade Coggan, Charles Crawford, Phoebe Fenwicke, Hamish Warden, Layleigh Hobbs, Corbin Latham, Claudia Kirton Theodore Wood, Kimberley Blake, Lucille Thomson and Stephanie Blake in the middle; and Toby Crawford, Frankie-Lee Naylor, Jordy Bennett, Eva Patterson-Green, Kirsten Britten, Chloe McCabe and Emily Ussher obscured) at the back.
All the children will be able to take part in the first ever Walcha Central School kindy to year 12 combined swimming carnival to be held at the Walcha pool next Tuesday from 9am until 6pm. The event is being held to strengthen the schools sport house competition according to head sport teacher Ben Ussher.
“In the past we had a separate carnival for infants/primary and high school but this way everyone gets involved on the one day, which makes it a bit more exciting," he said.
“There is a comprehensive range of events and everyone will get a chance to get in the pool; from beginners to elite swimmers.”
Many of the new kindergarten students said they were excited about being able to swim in the ‘big’ pool.
