Niangala, Yarrowitch, Walcha Central School , St Patricks and Woolbrook students all enjoyed the dramatisation of her new book Can you keep a secret? which was done by Robin with the aids of parents and teachers.
Robin has said that you never know what children will ask you and this was illustrated when Hain van Eyk at St Patrick’s school asked her if anyone had ever told her that her book was no good.
Walcha Central School librarian Marie Leahy reported that last Thursday Ms Adolphs explored items that she had discovered while gold prospecting.
Students heard how a camping trip with her grandson inspired the writing of the book Grandpa’s gold.
Inspiration from family and neighbourhood children inspired the story in the book The pile up which the students could relate to as children raced down the hill.
Dramatisation by students provided an excellent visual image for the reading of Yesterday I played in the rain.
Teachers acting out as scary monsters introduced Ms Adolphs new book Can you keep a secret?, which will be released later this month.
Students were inspired to write using daily experiences and to investigate opportunities to publish and so become authors.
We thank Sandra Galvin for organising the visit of Ms Adolphs and showing her the beautiful Walcha District.
