Not complaining one iota about the wet weather, but how good is it to see the creeks and gullies running again.

The rain combined with forecast warm weather in the coming days all adds up to relief for our graziers with spring right upon us.
With race meetings being cancelled everywhere, combined with heavy tracks the performance of some of the locals could be excused.
A terrific run by Jim Nivison and cousin Sandy Tait’s Jo Jo Girl at Randwick on Saturday however, with the mare loving the heavy going.
Jo Jo Girl raced on a heavy 10 and came from well back in the field after being in seventh place until 400m from home. She made her run at that point and joined the leaders. It looked like she would take out the race until Surpass secured a rail run late to defeat her in a photo finish with the margin being 0.1 of a length. Jo Jo Girl obviously likes it a little longer than the 2000 metres of Saturday’s race and if it had been any further the result would have been different.
Also coming back in distance on Sunday proved a little difficult for He’s Dreamin’ who contested the Taree Cup.
The 2000 metres was a lot shorter than the distances He’s Dreamin’ has been racing over and his fifth placing was a huge effort as he was doing his best work at the finish of the after travelling well back during the running.
He to would have finished a lot closer if the race was 400 metres longer! Big thrill for Amanda Scott and DY on Saturday when It’s A Saga held his form to finish third at Doomben.
It’s A Saga was coming off a last start win at Scone but the wet conditions on a heavy 10 proved to be the stumbling block that he didn’t need. It’s A Saga has been a model of consistency and deserved his chance in the metropolitan area.
He will probably go for a spell now and come back for a tilt at Walcha.
Jefferson Park also took the trip North to Doomben on Saturday but the four week break was evident as he looked to be carrying a little bit of condition. Jefferson Park led throughout on the heavy 10 track and was gallant in defeat, finishing a creditable third. Jefferson Park will strip a lot next start so if you backed him on Saturday double up next start in better conditions as he has loads of ability.
