With nearly 500 people taking the opportunity to stroll around the grounds of the historic homestead Langford enjoying everything the event offered.
“Numbers were up convincingly from previous years on the festival side of things, even though the bike riders were down quite a bit, there were only 110 registered riders on Sunday in comparison to 200-250 in previous years,” said Walcha tourism manager Susie Crawford.
“The committee is happy with how the day went,” she said.
“We have had very positive feedback from stall holders and festival goers, long lunchers, vintage car enthusiasts and the bike riders.”
The weather was sublime and there was plenty to do for all age groups with a vintage car display, fashion parade, live music, kid’s games, model boats on Langford Lake and a long lunch in the spectacular Langford conservatory dining room.
“A highlight of the bike ride was Jack Feltham chasing (and nearly catching) the pace car, which was a quad bike going full steam ahead, on the first lap of the garden,” said Susie.
“The crowd were cheering him on but I think he burnt his legs up a little for the hill that lay ahead of him.”
