Colts skipper Daniel Hunt scored his maiden half century in Walcha cricket when he assisted Ed Blomfield to put on a 122-run opening partnership against Rugby League at John Oxley Sportsground last Saturday.

Blomfield contributed 71 runs which included nine 4s and a six before he was caught by Thomas Boyd in the deep off the bowling of Chris Cooney in the 14th over.
Hunt clouted seven boundaries on his way to an unbeaten 57 after he put on 41 runs with number three Jacob Sherrin who finished unconquered on 23.
Colts set League an assignment of 163 for the loss of just the one wicket which proved to be enough as League fell 11 runs short.
League started well when openers Ron Waters and Michael Boyd put on 40 runs for the first wicket before Boyd was stumped by Blomfield off the bowling of Cameron Little for 17.
Deputy Sheriff Water’s had his furniture rearranged by Sherrin after he reached 24 and then Peter Mooney went the same way two deliveries later.
Captain Aaron Johnson gave his team some hope when he combined with veteran Rob Laurie to add 66 of which he knocked up 55 including six 4s and three 6s.
When danger man Johnson was deceived by Hunt the chances of a League victory dwindled although an unbeaten 14 by Cooney did get them to 8/152 when stumps were drawn.
Five of the six Colts bowlers used captured wickets Blomfield 2/17, Sherrin 2/24, Hunt 1/18, Little 1/22 and opener Will Fletcher 1/21.
In the other game at the Park, Uralla qualified for the Turton Cup Twenty/20 final next undefeated run of Round Swamp to an end at the Park last Saturday.
The two teams head back to the Park this Saturday for the decider.
Swamp batted first after winning the toss setting the visitors a total of 101 thanks mainly to consisted opener Barry Hoy who made 40 and put on a second wicket 55 run partnership with Lee Harrison who was the only other Swamp batsman to reach double figures with 22.
Best bowler for Uralla was Matt Tasik who snared 3/10, Jay Grills picked up 2/14 while opener Ben Hamilton and Corbin Kelly both took a wicket each to restrict Swamp to 7/101 off their 20 overs.
Uralla took just 13 over’s to achieve their goal with the loss of only one wicket Sam Press who was bowled by Liam Brennan.
His fellow opener Ryan Walker compiled 48 runs with five 4s and Jay Grills hit four 4s and a six in his 41.
Uralla team organiser Leigh Kelly was disappointed some of the senior players wouldn’t be available for the final.
