The Remembrance Day service attracted a small crowd of about 30 people who gathered at the town’s newly revamped War Memorial to pay their respects and remember the sacrifices of our service men and women.

A siren was heard across town just before 11am on Tuesday as a reminder of the special event.
Walcha RSL branch president Roy Westfold welcomed everyone to the service.
He spoke about the Armistice Day and the 60,000 Australians who died in World War I. He also read a poem in honour of those who have died in more recent conflicts, include the Vietnam War.
RSL Walcha sub branch vice president Liz Gill read The Ode and the whole crowd sung the National Anthem.
Walcha Central School captains paid their respects and laid a wreath at the ceremony.
The War Memorial and Cenotaph look amazing with the new granite concrete and terraced gardens a huge improvement.
“Walcha Council has done an amazing job on the gardens,” Mrs Gill said. “Walcha Central School students will design a mosaic along the wall behind the cannon that has been re-painted and moved to a more prominent position.”
