“Seniors make such an important contribution to their local community and the awards are a way in which each local community can show its appreciation for the talents, skills and generosity of this impressive group,” according to Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall.
Last year well known local and former deputy mayor, Kevin Ferrier was awarded an outstanding contribution award at the Seniors Week black and white ball, which was held by Walcha Home and Community Care at the Walcha Bowling Club.
Mr Marshall said it was important to celebrate the vital and critical role older citizens played in the community and to give thanks where it was due.
Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, February 20.
Nomination forms can be collected from Walcha Council or Mr Marshall’s office at 175 Rusden Street, Armidale.
The awards will be presented by Mr Marshall during Seniors Week in March.
