Thursday began with the Super Moto encouragement draft with a strong field of 96 entrants. Lloyd Aquilina from Markwell riding Duracks Jewel was the victor, with Sarah Marshman from Wongibinda riding Susie taking second place. Kristy Lee Fogarty and Rock Star Babe won the cut out sponsored by Walcha Prime Meats.
The Allflex novice pool A first round was held Thursday afternoon and Friday morning the Merial novice pool B first round with both finals staged Saturday afternoon. Pool A was won by Tamworth competitor Todd Hammond riding Tell Us Lady. Todd, this time riding Connie, shared second place with Quirindi competitor Mark Palmer aboard Funny Girl.
Tamworth competitor Peter Rogan and Rising Awesome won the cut out.
The pool B final was taken out by Bundarra resident Jack Gallagher riding Quinton with second place to Walcha local Bruce McNaughton riding Sheree. Maree Fields riding Tangello Oak won the cut out.
The Prydes Easifeed juvenile campdraft held Friday afternoon was won by Armidale resident Sam Weston riding Mention with Walcha local Toby King riding Fraser taking second place. Jordyn Snape riding One Moore Opal took out the cut out sponsored by RB Sellars
The Wengfu Fertiliser ladies first round draft held Saturday afternoon saw 22 ladies progressed to the Saturday final. The draw for the at final and the calcutta on the final was held Friday night after the Ringers’ Challenge at the bar.
The winner was Long Flat resident Kelly Lyon guiding Ugly Betty home for a 90 and second Bundarra lady Mandy Gallagher riding Sophistacatt. Maree Fields riding Tangello Oak won the cut out sponsored by New Birds.
The Walcha Chiropractic Centre and Lawler Warburtons junior campdraft was won by Goondiwindi’s Thomas Wells riding Convert with Kempsey’s Kirra Davison riding Stylish Goldie taking second place.
Five junior competitors were on top in the cut out which was drawn out of the hat with Lara de Jong riding Anita the winner.
The Ringers’ Challenge was won buy Guyra local Jack Davidson with Walcha locals Ben McNaughton and Carl Green taking second and third.
The Walcha Veterinary Supplies Open 4 Open draft was won dominated by Walcha locals. Bruce McNaughton took out first on Gold Dust and second went to son Ben McNaughton riding Footloose.
The Virbac Animal Health Bruce Brazel Memorial maiden campdraft was this year won by Quirindi’s Mark Palmer aboard Deluxe with Andrew Rolf and Suzy taking second place. Amanda Hollis riding Duggie won the cut out, sponsored by Pitt Sons Walcha.
The Ridley Agriproducts and Wingham Beef Geoff Eliot Memorial Maiden Campdraft was dominated by Armidale competitors. The winner was Ben Rossiter riding Georgie with Warren Lowrey riding Starbar second and Bruce Coultard riding Miss Daisy winning the cut out sponsored by John Stuart Walcha.
The Walcha Veterinary Supplies and Landmark Golden Gate open campdraft was this year won by David Grills riding Chloe with second being shared between Bruce Coultard riding Fig and Tim Hollis riding Rozanna. The cut out was won by Quirindi’s Ian Clarke riding Charlie. The cut out was sponsored by National Stock Yard Systems.
