Things have certainly slowed down since the Walcha meeting but the form from Walcha has certainly held up this week at Taree where there were two winners from our meeting.

First up, Wauchope gelding Alpine Dragon went on with his Walcha form scoring a very good win. Allocated the impost of 62.5kg Alpine Dragon attracted the services of Mollie Partridge who’s claim bought his weight back to 59.5.
Mollie rode the gelding to instructions and was able to hold them off at the business end of the race to record a promising victory.
Ron Martin memorial maiden runner-up Bien Coupez proved the form was no fluke when she also won nicely.
Bien Coupez ran a great race to go down narrowly here and the form enhances the maiden winner Art Express’ future in the industry. Certainly one to watch in the future.
Swift Pins found the 1600 metres at Taree on Monday a bit too far as she capitulated in the straight.
Swift Pins was ridden hard early, to overcome the wide barrier, and seemed to go pretty quick during the running which would have taken a fair bit out of her, so the run can be best forgotten.
Perhaps stablemate He’s Dreamin’ can make amends at Quirindi when he contests the Quirindi Cup.
The distance is probably shorter than he would like but he is fresh and stayers have been known to race well fresh.
Also at Quirindi on Friday will be Sweet Feet.
Sweet Feet ran a tremendous race at Walcha and the local connections will be hoping the good Walcha form can continue for their charge on Friday.
Sweet Feet will however come up against the well performed Mel O’Gorman charge Massacre. Massacre will be coming off a last start second and will more than likely be ridden by premier Jockey Robert Thompson.
