Round Swamp captain Barry Hoy was named the ER Brazel Memorial Player of the Year for a second time when the Walcha Cricket Association held its annual presentation at the Bowling Club last Saturday night, following the Walcha News Cup grand final.

The evergreen veteran won the award 14 years ago in 2001 and this season polled 13 points to finish ahead of Uralla all rounder Gary Aulakh on 11 points, Colt’s Ed Blomfield and Kentucky’s Steph Sweeney on 9 points.
Trophy winners on the night were: Batting aggregate (Commercial Hotel trophy) Barry Hoy 392 runs; batting average (Lloyd Levingston trophy) Barry Hoy 56.33; bowling aggregate (10 wickets to qualify) Cameron Kelly 18; and bowling average (Denis Wall trophy) Luke Wellings 7.36.
Under 21 batting average (Bob Bowden trophy) Daniel Boyd 19.0 and under 21 bowling average (Bob Bowden trophy) Ben Hamilton 9.45.
The over 35 batting average (Fleet Helicopters trophy) went to Barry Hoy 65.33 and the over 35 bowling average (Fleet Helicopters trophy) Dave Burge 11.6.
The Viv Partridge Memorial trophy for most catches was won by Justin Gibson and Thomas Boyd (7).
Wicket keeper of the year was Bob Jex (33) and runner-up Barry Hoy.
The Jim Fletcher memorial trophy for the best grand final bowling performance was won by Luke Wellings 4/22, while the grand final player of the match was Lachie Fletcher.
Season’s centuries were scored by Ed Blomfield (113), Dan Hunt (104 n.o.) and Barry Hoy (101 n.o.).
Five wickets in an innings: Luke Wellings 6/18; Max Murray 6/45; Gary Aulakh 5/28; Greg Buckland 5/28; and Aaron Johnson 5/32.
Hat trick: Stu Halliday on December 13.
The Turton Cup and the Walcha News Cup was won by Round Swamp and the Yalgoo Shield was won by Kentucky.
Seven batsmen scored the required 150 runs to qualify for the averages:
