Cattle were well supplied from various local donors and provided some top drafting.
Saturday morning saw the running of the first round of the feature maiden campdraft with competitors needing an 84 or better to make the final – Jim Lyons from Tamworth was eventually the winner taking home the Brady’s Saddlery Trophy Saddle; mid-morning saw the running of the open draft with competitors needing an 88 or better to make the final – winner was Troy Palmer from Coolah; the encouragement draft was run Saturday afternoon with winner being Justin Hancock followed by the open for open draft with Tim Hollis from Tamworth the winner.
Winners were presented with trophies at the bar on Saturday night along with Northern Zone presentations.
The club also celebrated its 40th anniversary with many past and present members in attendance, a good night was had by all.
The novice draft was first thing Sunday morning with an 86 or better to make the final. Jayden Dorney from Bulahdelah won.
The juvenile, Junior and ladies draft followed Sunday. Tyler Berkley (Inverell) won the junior and the juvenile winner was local rider Campbell Martin, while Laura MacIntosh took out the ladies draft.
The Committee ran the canteen this year which has not been done for many years and were overwhelmed by the support of competitors and local residents.
A big thank you to all our valued helpers across the weekend - there are many of you who gave endless hours of help and the sponsorship received from many businesses; without this we would not be able to run such a successful draft.
