Captain Peter Dunn said more than 50 children and their parents came along to see what was inside and what the brigade do.
Firefighters Bernie Brady, David Dunn and Daryl Parsons were on hand to explain how everything worked and take the children on a tour of the fire truck and station before letting them have a go with the fire hose.
More than 300 Fire Stations across the state were open, giving the community a chance to check out fire trucks and firefighting equipment. Headed into winter, it was also a great opportunity for families to talk to their local firefighters about winter fire safety.
A range of advice was on offer including fire safety presentations, advice about installing smoke alarms, changing smoke alarm batteries and preparing a home fire escape plan.
