My decision to stand once again as a Councillor was an easy decision for me to make. I have had the pleasure of helping guide our Council through no less than three amalgamation attempts and the support received from the public gives me the inspiration to hopefully continue in a supportive role to ensure the future of our council. However there is still much to be done.

The latest amalgamation proposal took up so much Council time but we still managed to make the every day decisions that affect our future. The replacement of the timber bridges in our shire became a real priority and Council now has that program well in hand.
Water shortages are a problem and I would like the opportunity to continue my participation in this area. We have made good progress on this issue up to now but there is still much to be done. Roads of course are always a concern and probably one of the most complaints received as a Councillor.
My involvement in the community is many and varied. I have been on the Touch Football committee for 22 years; treasurer of the Bowling Club for 11 years and the Jockey Club secretary for 25 years. I am also a member of many community committees such as: the Walcha Festival Committee; secretary of Walcha Liquor Accord; Indoor Hockey committee; secretary of Walcha Together; the Returning Officer for Walcha Community Radio and so the list goes on.
The resignation of no less than four Councillors including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, makes the election of those two positions a very important issue for Walcha on September 10. I feel the re-election of me could be beneficial as a support to whoever is elected to these positions.
