The Jillaroos will be up against Bendermeer while the Roos take on Manilla following the Ladies League Tag game.
LAST Saturday utility player Mitchell Eveleigh handed in his best game of the season when he crossed for four tries, ran strongly with the ball and was solid in defence.
‘Puja’ picked up three group and club points along with the ‘Players’ Player’ award.
The Roos will be looking for something similar from the ‘big bloke’ this Saturday as Walcha will be without their consistent backrower Lachlan Brown who is unavailable this weekend and centre Lee Hanson is in big doubt after straining his hamstring at training last Friday.
THE Jillaroos will also be without one of their senior players captain Robyn Broadbent who is off to the snow on Saturday.
Hopefully when ‘Board’ and Robbie’ return from their respective adventures both their teams will have qualified for grand finals.
WALCHA United Soccer will need a bit of luck when they take on New England League Division 3 leaders South Armidale United this Saturday at John Oxley sportsground from 1.00 pm.
Depending on the result Walcha can still make the semifinals but will certainly have their backs to the wall this Saturday. Good luck boys.
LAST weekend Walcha were represented at the NSW Sand and Grass Greens Championships at Grenfell and Forbes by club champion A.J. Brennan and his father Wayne.
On the opening day Wayne carded the third best nett score while Andrew finished second overall in the scratch section. Good on ya boys.
DON’T forget the New England Hotel Workplace Golf Challenge this Sunday to be played under a three person ambrose format.
There will be a shotgun start with all players requested to be at clubhouse by 10.00 am.
BAD luck to the Walcha Rams who were defeated in their elimination semifinal last Sunday by Moree at Weebolla Oval 41-24 after the visitors lead 24-3 early in the second half.
For the second time this season Moree came home with a wet sail to rack up 38 unanswered points and now take on Narrabri in the Preliminary Final.
A COUPLE of local junior rugby players were members of the TAS seconds squad that went through their GPS season undefeated until their last encounter with Joeys a few weeks ago.
Well done to Nick Rogers and Harry Gall on their achievement during 2016.
