Race meetings at Port Macquarie,Tamworth and Kempsey were abandoned. Tamworth has been postponed to Tuesday when they will attempt to race again.
Owners and trainers are tearing their hair out in an effort to race their horses. The problem for punters will be the race fitness of their charges when they do eventually find a meeting.
Classic example of the frustration experienced by trainers is the fact George Woodward has a huge list of nominations in the next few days.
At Barraba, he has nominated Hot Testa, Metro Myth, Zariz's Baby, First Starter, What a Bonus, Zariz's Daughter and Larrikin Prince. At Bowraville, he has nominated Opera Blu, Hot Testa, Metro Myth, Zariz's Daughter and Larrikin Prince.
At Port Macquarie on Sunday, he has nominated Minimos, Cathay Belle and What a Bonus. Surely he must get a start somewhere with so many nominations.
Next week, a contingent of Walcha Jockey Club committeemen will attend the Racing NSW awards night to find out if our submission for Community Race Club of the Year that finished in the top three can take out the prize.
Come what may, we have done well to get where we have with our nomination.
