Local Kung Fu student Robert Gardiner attended and competed in the International Sports Karate Association (ISKA) Country Championships two weeks ago where he performed well in three events .

In the traditional forms he was required to complete one of the forms he has been practicing for Kungfu and in this event he placed third.
Robert also competed and placed second in sword combat but missed third place by 1 point in point sparring.
“He had a fantastic time and the sportsmanship and support from the competitors was fantastic,” said Robert’s mum Margaret.
“He trains in Walcha with Way of Water Kungfu with his SIFU Hamish Brown.
This year marked the ten year anniversary of the ISKA country championships and the big day was held in Singleton and hosted by Kip Stavrou, Bill and Natalie Young .
Great talent was displayed by more than 250 competitors.
