On Friday, September 16, 85 people dressed in their finest black tie gear, and walked into a beautifully decorated clubhouse, full of fairy lights and native floral arrangements, courtesy of Beatrice Designs.
The night highlighted the season that was, including the return of a strong reserve grade and a competitive first grade that finished in fourth place.
Unfortunately this year we had a fair few solid injuries that saw some of our finest players sidelined and we hope recovery continues for Samuel Martin, Jack Patterson, Sione Kamoto and Harry King.
Like the many years that have gone before, this season we had a few long-term players step-up again for the rams to help us with numbers and skill including Steve Liddle, Angus Burnell and Ross Fletcher. But what was also wonderful to see this year was the introduction of numerous new players to the rams, including many younger players who have made us all excited for the years to come.
The evening was hosted by Will Fletcher, who did the job of both on field captain and club captain in 2016 and we want to say a huge thankyou to Will for all his efforts this year. Big thanks also go to all the committee members and volunteers who work tirelessly to make the club what it is and special mention to Andrew Crawford who has been instrumental in the clubhouse’s rejuvenation this year.
