THE WALCHA Golf Club have a couple big weekends coming up and hopefully the weather will be in great nick for the NSW Men’s Sandgreen Championships scheduled for Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October.
A fortnight later the Women’s NSW Sandgreen Championships are also set down to be played here at Walcha.
Last Sunday Wayne Brennan scooped the pool when the Regional Australia Bank stroke medal round was played. He won the overall nett event, the A Grade section of the competition, the scratch division, the A Grade long drive and the Putting Competition with just 18 putts.
The season he only had 18 putts and fell one short of the record 17 jabs held by John Mann was ‘Brenno’ chipped in no less than five times.
IT IS THE ‘Tale of Two Cities’ this weekend when the two major footy grand finals are decided in Sydney and Melbourne.
In case you have been living under a rock Cronulla take on Melbourne in the NRL and the Western Bulldogs do battle with the Sydney Swans in the AFL.
There is little doubt the two home teams, the Sharks and Bulldogs will receive some added support from the fans who want to see a home state winner.
