A spokesperson for the company said the team will miss her contribution and friendship greatly.
Prior to starting with Jobs Australia Enterprises in May 2001 Mrs Brady was manager of a women’s clothing store in Armidale, the tourist officer for Walcha Council, the owner and operator of an hairdressing salon and an administration assistant at Walcha Hospital for 10 years.
“I started with Jobs Australia as a part time receptionist and job placement officer when we were located at the old primary school,” Mrs Brady said.
“It was out of the way and in 2002 we managed to secure the rooms where Jobs Australia’s Walcha office is currently located. In July that year we entered our new contract and also became a full-time office.”
In January 2002 Mrs Brady became manager of the Walcha office.
“We were a dynamic team that soon had the Walcha office achieving 4.5 star ratings in the federal government’s Employment Service Program,” Mrs Brady said.
“This was not easy as there were so many variables that contributed to the ratings. At the same time we were struggling with a new computer program and technology that did not work when it was cloudy. Some days were extremely tough when you had deadlines to meet and the system was down.”
Mrs Brady said she was grateful to have had the chance to work with so many wonderful people.
“There were many amazing women who taught me so much and also supported me through some of the toughest times that I endured during my time with Jobs Australia Enterprises and that was so important,” she said.
“The job itself is extremely high pressured and mentally draining and I could not have done it without the support from my staff.”
According to Mrs Brady there were many challenges over the years, however recent times have proved to be the most stressful for her.
“The current contract that commenced in July 2015 would have to be the most challenging I have experienced during my time with the company,” said Mrs Brady.
“It was the fourth contract that I was involved with and it is the most compliance heavy process.”
Mrs Brady said one of her greatest memories of the job was overseeing the total refurbishment of Amaroo Land Council Buildings.
“However the best highlight was to be involved with the beautification of the Aboriginal Section of Walcha Cemetery.”
My heart swells with pride whenever I visit the place of reflection, it is a beautifully peaceful place.
