Last Saturday saw the Peter, Helen and Belindah Wauch-owned Star of Legs put in a sterling performance at Ballina in the Ballina Cup.
Star of Legs missed the start which saw her in the uncustomary role of racing at the tail of the field.
Star of Legs is better known for racing at the business end of her races, but on Saturday he surprised all and sundry with his performance.
Starting a move at the 400 saw him 11 wide on the turn. Sustaining the run, Star Of Legs ran them down easily in the run to the line to record a nice victory.
At Armidale on Saturday, George Woodward book-ended the program by taking out the first and last races on the day.
He took out the opening event with Zariz's Daughter. Zariz's Daughter led them into the straight where she was shuffled back to sixth but came up again to win a by a short half-head.
It has always been said that any horse who is headed and comes again to win has potential.
George would also have been happy with the performance of his last race winner Cathay Belle. Cathay Belle raced in fifth place all the way, was pulled out to make its run on the turn into the straight and won in a photo finish.
