Mr Joyce visited the small school to present Joe Slager with two books after he won the 2016 Barnaby Joyce calendar competition. Joe’s photograph of a local wool shed is on the cover of the National’s 2017 calendar.
Mr Joyce also presented students with their Gold Awards for the NSW Premier's Primary Schools Sport Challenge.
“The students performed 'Banuwa' on the marimbas and sang three songs for the Deputy Prime Minister,” said Yarrowitch School principal Sarah Carter.
After the festivities and award presentations Mr Joyce joined the students for morning tea.
“He spoke of his love for small schools as he attended Woolbrook Public School and now has progressed to become Deputy Prime Minister of Australia,” said Mrs Carter.
“We’d like to thank him for showing such strong support for Yarrowitch Public School.”
