LAST weekend, eight boys from the NIAS Aussie Rules squad, including Walcha’s own Morgan Dunn, were invited to play in a curtainraiser for the Sydney Swans v North Melbourne clash at Coffs Harbour. The boys teamed up with some Northern Rivers representative players to form a Northern Stars side which went down 11.3.69 to 4.8.32 against a North Coast Academy squad. In front of a crowd of 3700 spectators, Morgan kicked a goal and said he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play in front of the big crowd as well as the Swans staff and selectors. The boys also got to view a Swans training session and meet some of the players, including Swans star and former captain Kieren Jack.
