“Gather your friends and family together to enjoy this special picnic opera experience,” said Walcha visitor Information Officer Lisa Kirton.  

“Pre-opera entertainment will be provided by talented local duo Matt & Mish, who play wonderful old school country and rock.  They have been playing together for three years and are both influenced by American Country.  They are looking forward to getting together with special guest, singer and actor, Ben Mingay who will perform a few old favourites and finish with a classic opera piece prior to the main opera which commences at 4pm.”

Tchaikovsky’s best loved opera, Eugene Onegin, will feature emerging talent dressed in opulent costumes based on 19th Century Russian fashion trends and a fabulous 11-piece orchestra.
