“We wanted to take a different approach to communicating the Easter message,” Ben said.
“The aim is to encourage people to think about the significance of Easter.”
The exhibition juxtaposes various works, both amateur and professional, with excerpts from the Bible.
“We rang around and asked community members for artwork which met the ‘new life’ theme,” said Stuart.
“The works were not created specifically for the exhibition but were selected for their ability to reflect the theme.”
This is the second year the exhibition has been held, and the plan is to run it again next year.
“As well as involving the wider community this year we have included children’s work as well,” Ben said.
The exhibition will be open: on Thursday for a couple of hours; following the service on Good Friday at 9.15am; on Easter Saturday from 9am until 12pm and; on Easter Sunday following the 7.30am service and 9.15am outdoor service. It closes on Monday.
