Until April 28, branch staff will be supporting the Clown Doctors by accepting donations in the Walcha branch.
Clown Doctors is the core program of The Humour Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that provides medical clowns to sick kids in hospital, treating them with a different kind of medicine – fun and laughter.
“We’ve been supporting the Clown Doctors for more than 18 years, and it’s a cause our staff are very passionate about,” said CommBank Walcha branch manager Anne Martin.
“Through our fundraising day, we hope to help the Clown Doctors achieve their goal of conducting more Clown Rounds in hospitals across Australia, and we encourage local residents to come into the branch, share some laughs and make a donation.”
April is the official fundraising month for the Clown Doctors, a program of the not-for- profit organisation, The Humour Foundation. Each year, the Clown Doctors visit around 240,000 sick kids and their families at 24 major hospitals around the country, bringing laughter and joy by parodying the hospital routine, while simultaneously offering respite for families and playing an integral part in the healing process.
For more than 18 years the Clown Doctors has been supported by CommBankstaff through the Bank’s Staff Community Fund. Current and retired staff make regular salary contributions to the Fund, which has been helping Australian kids since 1917. These contributions are vital for the continued existence of programs like the Clown Doctors.
Donations to the Clown Doctors can be made at any CommBank Bank branch throughout April or online at commbank.com.au/clowndoctors.
