The Roosters had opened up an 18-0 lead after 15 minutes before winger Harley Cox Swooped on a loose pass from one of his teammates to race over to score his first try for the Roos in the “Millhole” corner.
Ten minutes later, halfback Bevan Wood powered his way over between the posts and when skipper Steve Eveleigh raised the flags, the home side was back in the game.
Just before “oranges” the visitors scored a converted try and then crossed for another four touchdowns of which two were converted to take an unbeatable 46-10 advantage with 13 minutes remaining.
Five-eight Dean Turner picked up centre Jock Abraham with a good inside pass to send him into score from 45 metres out which Eveleigh converted.

The Walcha Rams have certainly hit the good running opening their 2017 Central North campaign with two big wins over Quirindi 88-17 and Tamworth 64-0 to rack up over 150 points during their first two games. The Rams will get a bit better idea where they are really at when they travel to Inverell to take on the Highlanders this Saturday. Go the red and whites.
The Walcha Jillaroos suffered their first Group 4 Ladies League Tag competition loss since the 2015 Preliminary Final against Uralla at Kootingal when they were defeated by Kooty here at the Park last Sunday. Walcha were slow to get out of the blocks down 16 -0 at “oranges” but fought their way back and could have quite easily won the game.
Although they went down 2-1 to Armidale City at John Oxley Sportsground last Saturday, the Walcha Senior Soccer team were far from disgraced. There were no official best and fairest points awarded, but there was mention that goal scorer Luke Bailey, Daniel Harrison and Michael Lockyer all performed well. Players Player would nearly have had to go to 55-year legend Ricky Brown who is yet again pulling on the boots after having retired on half a dozen times previously.
At the 19th
