Walcha Council funds every child in the shire to attend the Life Education van once a year and this week Healthy Harold and his handler Ruth van der Wegen were visiting some of the small schools in the region.

“We get good support from all councils but Walcha is the only one I know of that pays the $10 per child we charge to help with our costs,” said Mrs van der Wegen.
“It costs us three times that amount to run the service and as we are a not for profit we are always looking for funding to run our classes on healthy life choices.”
Life Education has been empowering children and young people to make safer and healthier choices through education for more than 38 years and is now the largest non-government provider of drug and health education, operating in all States and Territories.
