Once again Walcha Central School (WCS) has used Education Week to highlight NAIDOC events. The annual week highlights the achievements of public education, putting the spotlight on our students, our educators and the community that supports them. On Monday an assembly featured a performance by the Dunghutti Dance Group before awards were distributed.

Stephanie Blake received the ‘outstanding student achievement award’ for her outstanding work ethic and determination to reach her personal best in all areas of learning.
Rachael Wellings received the ‘outstanding contribution to a school by a community member award for the formation of the Walcha Youth Advisory Committee and commitment to Walcha Central School's student parliament and youth.
Hannah Crawford received the ‘outstanding contribution to a school by a member of the school community’ for her outstanding commitment to Walcha Central School during her term as president of the P&C.
Sonia Ussher received an ‘outstanding contribution to the school by a staff member’ award for her care and compassion in supporting all students especially those with learning difficulties.
