“In support of our campaign to reduce the use of plastic shopping bags in Walcha in the lead up to Christmas, both Foodworks and IGA supermarkets have generously agreed to a fortnightly shopping docket draw at both supermarkets,” said Walcha bag lady Cherie Pethard.
“The winners will each receive a $50 shopping voucher.”
The first draw took place on Wednesday and the next will be in a fortnight on November 22.
Two further bumper draws of $150 will be on December 6 and 20.
“So shop in Walcha and be in it to win it,” said Mrs Pethard.
“Ditch the plastic and save our oceans and beautiful country from further pollution.
If you are using a cloth, reusable bag or no bag at all just put your name and phone number on your shopping docket and pop it in the box provided. The winners will be notified by phone.”
