Fitzroy house are the secondary champions and overall Walcha Central School swimming carnival winners after they finished on top of the points score table last week ahead of Apsley, Derby and Oxley houses.

Derby took out the Primary division and although they didn’t win either division Apsley was declared the over-all runners-up.
Last week was the first time Walcha Central has held an all-school carnival where kids from kindergarten through to year 12 were all involved sometime throughout the successful day which going on that form will no doubt be conducted again.
Secondary champions were: 17 years Heather Partridge (F), Brody Smith (O), runners-up Zoe Mathews (A), Sam Mackaway (D); 16 years: Amber Mackaway (A), Jack Wake (A); runners-up: Clarissa chawner (D), Josh Mackaway (D).
15 years: Elijha Fortescue (F), runner-up Kerstan Wall (F); 14 years - Chloe Mackaway (A), Jack McAtister (D) runner-up Katelyn Smith (O), Tom Wake (A); 13 years Brian Eckford (F), Nick Buckland (O), runner-up Karin Warneminde Green (F), Shane Levingston (A); and 12 years Janie Muller (O), runner-up Ashleigh Wall (F).
Primary champions were: seniors Olivia Payne (D), Ethan Bray (F), runner-up Jorji Ledingham (D), Sam Feltham (A); 11 years - Maggie Halliday (F), Thomas Micallef (O), runner-up Abbey Mackaway (A). Juniors: Jessica Wake (A), Zac Warden (D), runner-up Charlotte Mooney (O), William Swain (O).
Red House was crowned St Patrick’s champions last week when they snuck home against Blue House who were judged to be the best cheering house on the day.
The following competitors were rewarded for their efforts on the day. Senior champions - Dominic Flanagan (R) Hannah Dunn (R) and runners-up Walker Harrison (B), and Chloe Swanton (B).
In the 11 years Lachie Grieg (R), Georgia Ludieh (B), runner-up Joe Kermode (R). Junior: Simon Nivison (B), Matilda Hall (R), runner-up Eugene Campbell (B), Cecilia Greig (R).
Juvenille: Ollie Grieg (R), Tempe Macarthur Onslow (R), runner-up Darcy McPherson (B), Milly Nivison (B).
The small schools’ conducted their carnival a fortnight ago where Woolbrook dominated proceedings finishing with four of the six champions and also winning the relay.
Both senior champions came from Woolbrook - Heidi Matthews and Jack McLaren as did both the junior champions Charlie Haling and Charlie McLaren.
In the 11 years Natalie Dale from Niangala and Lee Slager from Yarrowitch were the champions. In the parents race Emma McLaren showed plenty of form to win the 50 metre event just ahead of Kathy Rule, Annette Brown and a fast finishing Mark ‘Ferret’ Annetts.
With the expectations of a cool start to the small schools carnival, all competitors have been held in very favourable water and weather conditions making the carnivals and enjoyable experience.
