Considering the ‘Mollydookers’ only had five players (there aren’t many more in the club), Julie Hoad was making a comeback from injury and that A.J. Cross was in the side, the ‘lefties’ were relying on a miracle anyway.
It didn’t eventuate and they went down 5-0.

Still on golf, the weekly veterans nine hole competition has been changed to accommodate all ages with everyone invited to play each Saturday morning.
Registration time is 8.30am with a view to commence play ASAP after that. Come on have a go, you might just like it.

At the recent Basketball AGM Tanya Sutton was elected as president, taking over from Carly Goodwin who remains on the committee.
Amanda Scott is secretary, Jenny Hoy treasurer while Jayde Goodwin, Kristy Lawrence and Sandra Laurie make up the rest of the committee.
Not many male names there, boys.
Competitions are scheduled to ‘tip off’ on Monday 1st May.
No local footy last weekend due to the Easter break with both the Roos and Jillaroos enjoying their time off.
Only the Roos are back in action this Saturday when they take on the Bingara Bullets at John Oxley Sportsground at 2.30pm.
The Jillaroos get another week off as Bingara don’t field a Ladies League Tag Team.
Although the Jillaroos have won all four of their games this season, they are currently in second position on the Group 4 Second Division Ladies League ladder. Kootingal have won two matches, had two byes but have a better points score for and against, leaving them on top at the moment. The Jillaroos will pick up an easy two points this Saturday with their bye.
RUGBY UNION
The Walcha Rams kick off their 2017 Central North campaign at the Park this Saturday when they host Qurrindi in two grades from 1.45 pm. The boys are on the lookout for a couple of prop forwards with all those interested to be at the Park well before kick-off time.
A reminder too that it is Ladies Day this Saturday and just remember girls, moderation is the key when it comes to sipping champagne.
Ladies gate entry is free and funds raised from the wood raffle will be donated to the McGrath Foundation.
So dress yourselves in splashes of pink for the day and night and let's get the season off to a huge start!
