Fullback Steve Eveleigh took out the Roos best and fairest player after he racked up 26 points, captain/coach Troy Yarnold was runner-up on 16, Brody Smith was third on 14, just in front of Max Abraham and Drew Bird, both on 12 points.
The top three best and fairest players were named equal player’s player after all three collected three weekly awards during the season.
Front rower Josh Lordanie received the coach’s award from Troy Yarnold, while speedy winger Jhorden Coulter was judged to be the most improved Roos player after an enthusiastic first season.
Jillaroos best and fairest went to Lucy Withers, who accumulated 19 points to sneak home from Lacey Latham on 18. Annabelle Green was third on 16, then Kimberley Lisle 14, Ruth France 13, Rachel Green 12, and Shae Partridge 11.
Player’s player was Annabelle Green with 49 points, well clear of runners-up Lucy Withers and Rachel Green on 30, Lacey Latham on 29, and Jordyn Hoy on 27.
Coach’s award was presented to Lacey Latham by Kevin Creighton, while Rachel Green was most improved. Club person of the year couldn’t be split between Chris Broadbent and Michael Aspinall. Congratulations to all winners.
