Mel said she has been using cloth bags for a couple of years.

“They are good for the environment as well as being sturdy, more can be packed into them and they can be used many times,” she said.

“We recycle everything we can, feed our vegetable and fruit scraps to our animals or put them in a compost heap. We are starting to take our small kitchen bin to the tip, empty it then just rinse or wipe it out, it ready for next use.”

Adam says he doesn’t shop much but  he always makes sure he has reusable bags in both cars.

“We are always prepared and I have noticed that a lot more people are using cloth bags,” he said.

“I hate to see the number of plastic bags and rubbish on the side of the roads. We are always picking it up and encourage our children to do the same.”
