If you are an Australian citizen aged 18 years or older and live in the electoral Division of New England, it is compulsory to vote for the House of Representatives seat of New England on Saturday. If you don’t vote, you may be prosecuted and if you vote more than once it is a criminal offence.

Polling places open at 8am and close at 6pm sharp. Polling places will not be available outside the electoral Division of New England during that time.
In the Walcha area, polling places will be located at Walcha Central School, Kentucky Hall, Niangala School, Nowendoc Hall,Woolbrook School and Yarrowitch School. Seventeen candidates have nominated for the by-election.
In the polling place you will be given a green ballot paper for the Division of New England in the House of Representatives.
You don’t have to follow how-to-vote cards given to you by candidate supporters outside the polling place but you must number every box to make your vote count.
